Dr Boris Nemec, MD, PhD

Dr Boris Nemec, MD, PhD graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Rijeka in 1972, received his specialization in orthopaedics in 1976 and his doctorate in medicine in 1989. Dr Nemec travelled extensively abroad and gained more advanced training in orthopaedic in Basel, Berlin, Newcastle, Leeds, New York, Boston, Bologna, Perugia, Milan and Stockholm.  He is a member of the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons) and the ESKA (European Association of Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy). He is also a member of the medical commission of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association). Dr Nemec performed successful milestones in orthopaedic surgery including one of the first bone-cartilage transplants in Europe, reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament using homotransplant and stem cell transplants in the knee cartilage. He currently practices orthopaedics in Lovran and teaches at the School of Medicine at the University of Rijeka.
